Cherry

These are cold hardy Cherry Trees that will survive our harsh winters. Commonly referred to as Sour Cherry Trees, they have beautiful blossoms in the Spring and can grow large fruit that will be ready for harvest in late summer to early fall. Don’t let the word ‘sour’ turn you off. While the fruit has a certain tartness to them there is a delicious underlying sweetness to their flavor.

Sour Cherry Trees are self-pollinating. This means you do not have to purchase and plant a second Cherry Tree for pollination and fruit production.

We offer the Romance Series of Hardy Cherries and Evans Sour Cherry. Great for fresh eating, good for canning or juicing. Which one to plant? Planting all six gives a harvest from the end of July to mid-September. Each cultivar has about a three-week harvest period. Expect some fruit three years after planting, with greater yield after 5 years, and peak capacity after seven years.
