Haskap berries, also known as honeyberries, are a cold-hardy, early-ripening fruit native to Russia. They are part of the honeysuckle family.
Honeyberries are a sweet, tangy fruit that can be likened to a blueberry in taste. High in antioxidants, vitamins, and minerals, they make a healthy and tasty treat to snack on, used in desserts, placed on ice cream, and making preserves. Honeyberries are cold-hardy and are a particular favorite in the northern climates where other berries don’t grow as well.
Don’t forget your pollinator! Honeyberries grow best with more than one plant/variety present.
Unlike blueberries, these do not require acidic soil to produce fruit.
